This episode was illconceived, portraying the country of Thailand completely incorrectly. Given its a constitutional monarchy like England, there is a government that runs the country, not the King. The King is revered and it is illegal to speak badly about the King, but the portrayal of the situation in the show would absolutely not be possible in the real Thailand and I found it appalling that they were creating a fictional land and passing it off as one that really exists. By the way, the real King of Thailand, who was loved by all Thais, and was incredibly generous and kind, died a few years back and that made the portrayal all the more insulting. Thailand had a coup of sorts a few years back, and the elected president, who was robbing the country, was rightfully overthrown. His sister was installed and she was worse. Then the military took over the government and has restored order and elections are scheduled for the near future. Thailand has had an elected prime minister and goverrnment for many year. The King has been a figure-head only for a long time and it is sad that the writers are so ignorant of the reality of the actual country. They should apologize to Thailand, its people and its viewers.
I really love this show which made this ridiculous storyline all the more disappointing.
