Media is going to take another crack at Alan Moore’s comic/graphic novel series The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
This time around, it will be for TV, for 20th TV and the FOX television network, from writer Michael Green, whose credits include Heroes, Smallville, and Green Lantern. 3 Arts’ Erwin Stoff is also involved. Creators Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill, however, will not be.
The project has a “put pilot” commitment, which means there are financial penalties if the project does not go further.
Per THR, The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen is “about a group of Victorian age literary characters, including Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde who team up to fight a common enemy.” A film adaptation, which wasn’t very warmly received, was done in 2003.
