FOX has announced that Smallville alum Tom Welling has joined the cast of comedic procedural Lucifer. He’ll be playing Lieutenant Marcus Pierce, a professionally accomplished man of reserve, charm, and charisma who forms a connection with Decker, much to Lucifer’s chagrin.
Season three of Lucifer picks up with Lucifer having successfully gotten rid of Charlotte, only to be knocked out and wake up in the desert to find that his angel wings are back. The season will, at least in part, try to figure out who the kidnapper was and why the angel wings have returned.
In addition to his role on the WB-turned-CW drama, Welling has appeared on the likes of Judging Amy, Undeclared, and Special Unit 2. This will be Welling’s first television credit since the end of Smallville in 2011 and just his fourth overall acting credit following films Parkland, Draft Day, and The Choice.
