Tying in with the start of Krypton Season 2 premiering tonight, Syfy has announced they are developing a Lobo spinoff. Syfy has confirmed this news, though TV Line notes that it is not officially confirmed that Emmett J. Scanlan, who plays the character in Krypton Season 2, will be starring.
The show, based on characters from DC, this spinoff of Krypton tells the story of the Main Man, the Last Czarnian Lobo, who is described as “a foul-mouthed, dangerous, irascible, intergalactic bounty hunter.”
Krypton’s Executive Producer Cameron Welsh will be Executive Producer and writer of the project. Lobo first appeared in the comic book Omega Men #3 back in 1983 but first became prominent in a L.E.G.I.O.N. series and a series of popular miniseries in the early 1990’s from DC Comics. At that time, he was one of the most popular characters in comics.
