Bounce TV announced today that they’ve acquired all five seasons of praised FOX comedy Living Single, which ranked in the top five among African-American viewers for its entire duration.
Beginning Monday, October 2nd, Living Single repeats will air 7:00 – 9:00 every weeknight on the digital network that’s currently home to encores of A Different World, Half & Half, and The Bernie Mac Show, among others. The series follows six African-American professionals as they made their way through a busy life in Brooklyn filled with career ups and dating lows. Running 118 episodes and concluding in the winter of 1998, Living Single starred Queen Latifah (Chicago), Kim Coles (In Living Color), Erika Alexander (The Cosby Show), Kim Fields (The Facts of Life), T.C. Carson (Final Destination 2), and John Henton (The Hughleys).
The Living Single move comes months after Latifah appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live (below) and revealed that a reboot/revival was in the works. No progress has been announced since then, but the show being exposed to a new generation of television viewer can only help its chances of producing new episodes.
Living Single is part of a fall lineup for Bounce that is concentrated on Mondays. Following the network premiere of Living Single is the fifth season premiere of family comedy Family Time, which stars Omar Gooding and Angell Conwell as Tony and Lisa Stallworth, high school sweethearts raising two teenagers, at 9:00; new family comedy Grown Folks, that chronicles the lives of two blue-collar couples living in a duplex, at 9:30; and news magazine Ed Gordon at 10:00. This season of Ed Gordon is set to feature interviews with multi-hyphenate Steve Harvey, U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters, and Black-ish star Yara Shahidi, among others.
