After pulling freshman comedy Living Biblically for May Sweeps, CBS has confirmed that the series has officially been cancelled.
Anytime a freshman series is pulled from the schedule, it’s essentially a cancellation, so the news today is CBS just tidying up loose ends, more or less. Living Biblically wasn’t exactly put into a great scheduling (or marketing) situation, with a soft lead-in in Superior Donuts and a 9:30 slot for a subject that demanded something earlier, but it didn’t exactly show any signs of ratings life during the eight episodes it got to air. With CBS in the middle of a comedy makeover on Mondays after an underwhelming season, there was just no room for an unowned underperformer to be in the renewal conversation.
It remains to be seen when the show’s remaining episodes will be burned off, though past precedent on CBS points to a July burnoff.
