    Legend Of The Seeker: Finished?

Legend of the SeekerA representative from the Tribune Company is now saying that Legend of the Seeker will not be renewed for a third season.

When e-mailed for comment by KSiteTV and by others, this is what he said:

    Dear Craig,

Thanks for your email and for your support of the show. Unfortunately, not enough viewers felt the same way as you and “Seeker’s” ratings do not merit renewing it. I’m sorry.

    Gary Weitman
    SVP/Corporate Relations
    Tribune Company

This is very unfortunate information, for the show’s longtime fans and for folks like myself who just started watching. The show’s ratings, while modest, still performed fairly well for its participating stations.

Hopefully a reversal is in the cards, or the show can be shopped elsewhere, because Seeker‘s story is just starting.

UPDATE: Legend of the Seeker Co-Executive Producer Mike Sussman posted a photo today on Twitter with his favorite Mark Twain quote – “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.” Could some good news be forthcoming?

Please reconsider and don’t cancel Legend of the seeker. It is one of my favorite shows. I know you could trying shopping it around to see if someone else wanted pick it up. SCFY might be the perfect fit. Please try though don’t just shelve this treasure. Their quests have just begun.

Bridget Regan recently said it well… “What’s difficult with syndication is it’s hard for people to find it. In San Diego it’s on at Sundays at 3 or something like that and I’m not usually home on Sundays at 3.”

Who has it out for this show? In the Washington DC area, it’s on at 11pm Sunday night – I mean really. The air times would be a death knell for anyone – why don’t they realize that and not only renew it for another season but get it aired at better time slots??!!!

    6. Craig Byrne on May 27, 2010 11:43 pm

A LOT of people say that about not knowing when Seeker is on.

One of my good friends doesn’t even bother with broadcast and just waits for the Netflix streaming which of course gets them no revenue… which sucks.

It would have been really smart if the Tribune stations had just put Seeker into primetime on The CW. I hope we see this cast in other things soon, though.

    7. Chrisi on Jun 23, 2010 2:09 pm

That sucks!!! We love this show!!!! We too watch it on netflix!

    8. Luke Jay Walker on Sep 24, 2010 7:41 am

The reasons that they are canceling the show, other than that the fact it is in an impossible TIME SLOT, are because it’s too clean for prime time and it teaches that evil will not prevail. That’s just a little too moral for the sanctimonious, self-righteous “people” who rule prime-time TV. AAAaaaGGGGGgggHHHhh!!!!!! This show should be aired on FX, G4, SyFy, and I wouldn’t rule out Chiller even though Seeker does not fit in the “horror” genre.
