Melinda Clarke and Aaron Stanford are the latest actors to join The CW’s Nikita pilot.
Clarke is best known for playing boozy (but hot) mom Julie Cooper-Nichol on The O.C., and she will soon be seen playing the boozy (but hot) mom to Matt on The Vampire Diaries. We are assuming that she’ll be playing “Amanda,” a division operative initially tasked with making the new assassin presentable. She sounds a bit like the original series’ “Madeline.” If this goes to series, let’s hope she still has time to make appearances on TVD – we saw her first appearance at the Paley Festival, and she is fantastic.
Aaron Stanford played Pyro in the last two X-Men films; he also had a memorable role in ABC’s way-too-short-lived Traveler. He’ll be playing Operations a computer specialist.
Interestingly, the THR article that broke this casting news says that Maggie Q will be playing “a new assassin.” Could Maggie Q be playing “Alex,” with the elusive role of Nikita herself not cast yet? Stay tuned…
