Her character may not be called Gwen Dylan, but Rose McIver of Once Upon A Time and Power Rangers fame has gotten the lead role in The CW pilot iZombie, which comes from Veronica Mars’ Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero.
Rob Thomas is also directing the pilot, which is hoping for a spot on The CW’s 2014-2015 schedule.
McIver will be playing Olivia “Liv” Moore in the pilot, which has a cast that already includes David Anders, Robert Buckley, and Alexandra Krosney. THR, which was one of the first outlets to report the news, describes Liv as “a medical student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the Coroner’s Office in order to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat so that she can maintain her humanity. However, with every brain she eats, she inherits the corpse’s memories. With the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head.” The show is described as a procedural series.
In addition to iZombie, McIver will soon be starring in Petals on the Wind, the sequel to Lifetime’s Flowers in the Attic adaptation.
