The six-episode final season of Nikita begins later this year on The CW, and we spoke to one of the series’ stars, Shane West, at the recent Comic-Con International in San Diego, to find out what we can about Season 4. What’s going to happen for “Mikita” next year?
“In the first episode, he doesn’t really let on that he’s upset when he runs into her, but he is upset. That’s happened too much, too many times, and I don’t really know what’s going to happen. In a perfect world, in these six episodes, they’ll have that storybook ending, but it’s not going to start that way,” he teases. “We’ll see what happens.”
Could things ultimately lead to a happy ending for Nikita and Michael when all is said and done?
“With the ending of last year and the beginning of this season, it’s really hard to say; and with Craig [Silverstein] as a creator, it’s really hard to say,” Shane admits. “But, I’d like to think that’ll happen, but I’m not even sure Craig necessarily wanted that in the beginning; he felt forced into it by the fan reaction, so because of that, I don’t know. I wouldn’t actually say ‘yeah. Of course. Six episodes; you’ve just gotta wrap it up quick. Figure it out in the first three, and make the other three about other things,’ or something like that. But I don’t know. I’m hoping so, though.”

Sigh I feel sorry for Craig. The “Mikita” drama was so needless it changed the entire tone of the show to a spy chick-flick drama. The first Season remains the best in striking the perfect balance for The CW chick-flick audience and adult-action drama. Season 2 and 3 – especially 3 favored too much for “Mikita”.
That said, Michael is a great character but I feel that the show was always about Alex and Nikita, not “Mikita”. Alex was disappointing in Season 3.
