A recurring theme in the first season of NBC’s Undateable is that Rick Glassman‘s character Burski has a thing for Danny’s sister Leslie, who is played by Bianca Kajlich. That crush of Burski’s isn’t going away as Season 2 of the series begins on Tuesday, March 17.
We headed to the Warner Bros. studio lot earlier this week to speak with the cast of Undateable about that second season, and our first interview to share is with Glassman & Kajlich together, talking about what’s to come for Season 2 – starting with the season premiere, in which there’s an item focused on a part of Leslie’s body on display in a local gym. The guys band together and Shelly even does an impersonation in order to get that item back.

“The main point of it is that they reacted in a way where the first thing was that we’re all friends,” Glassman said about the episode, which sees Burski at least temporarily taking a break from creeping. “It’s more about saving her face, and her allowing us to, and us all working as a team to get it.” With that said, though, the episode’s resolution – which, of course, we’re not going to give away – is typical Burski, though it focuses on the one woman of his dreams. “As crass as Burski is and as much as he talks about boobs and stuff, he could only really get [excited] from one girl, and that’s Leslie,” he said.
That devotion might not get Burski very far, as Leslie is going to keep pushing him away. “We’ve gotta go probably at least three seasons of the push-away until we even get there,” Kajlich told us. Creator Bill Lawrence has also gone on the record as saying that it will be a while. “Bill said that we don’t get to actually get to make love until we’re in syndication,” Glassman added.
However, Bianca does say that it’s good to have these teases, as fans were already responding in Season One. “We got a lot of Tweets… they were calling us ‘Lurski’,” she said. “So, people are really already onto it, and they like it. We had just a little bit last year, but it really sparked that big of a response, so I can only imagine what this season is going to do, because we play with it a lot more. But they’re still not there. It’s going to drag on, I think, for a little bit. Which is good.”
From that statement, Glassman picked up a very important lesson. “I never noticed until just now that ‘drag on’ sounds like dragon. So, make sure you quote me on that,” he said.
Come back to KSiteTV in the coming days for more Undateable interviews as we lead to the season premiere on March 17!
