The Season 2 premiere of The Originals is only nine days away at the time of this writing, as the show is about to move to Mondays at 8PM on The CW.
This summer at the Comic-Con International in San Diego, we spoke with members of the cast about what to expect from their character’s futures. Today, we share not just one, but TWO interviews — one with Leah Pipes (Cami), another with Danielle Campbell (Davina).
“At this point, she’s trying to remove herself a little bit from the debauchery, to say the least, that’s happening in New Orleans,” Leah Pipes says about what’s coming up for Cami. “I don’t know how successful she’s going to be at that. I think right now, it’s just her taking a step back, and trying to assess where she wants to go from here, and that’s a complicated question. You really get to see Cami – who she was all along. Season 1 was all these discoveries for Cami, and it was a lot of her realizing mind-blowing things. And obviously huge losses in her family. Season 2, you get to see, now that she has all the information, who she’s been all along, and I’m really excited about that.”
Here is that interview:
As for Davina in Season 2, “Davina has grown up a lot,” Danielle Campbell tells us. “She is a lot stronger. The first season, she was kind of the pawn in everyone’s game, and this season, she’s really taking charge in her own life. She’s not in her coven anymore, she went back to school, and she plans on her revenge with Klaus. But at the same time, she wants to protect the people that she loves, like Josh and Marcel, and if she wants to destroy Klaus, she has to break her ties, obviously.” She teases that she becomes quite smitten with “a new bad boy in town,” Caleb, played by Daniel Sharman.
