As half of “Jonnor,” Hayden Byerly has cemented himself as a popular part of the groundbreaking ABC Family drama series The Fosters. It sounds as though there’s drama coming for Jude and for the Foster family, and we talked with Hayden about that at last week’s ABC party at the Television Critics Association press tour.
What’s headed our way in the final episodes of the Season 3 summer run? There’s “a lot of crazy stuff,” Byerly teases. “In the [Episode] 10 finale, there’s a huge bump that kind of shocks the Jonnor world. That is something that I think is going to be very exciting and crazy in these upcoming episodes.”
The summer finale titled “Lucky” might also give us some serious drama between Stef and Lena. “As we’ve kind of seen throughout this season, they’ve been to marriage counseling, they’ve had some arguments and some issues around the house… and I think that in 10, a lot of stuff kind of happens, and there’s a lot of drama between of them… but I think that as a family, that hopefully they’ll pull together. I think that they’ve been through a lot together for a long time, and so I think that they’ll be strong and able to hopefully stay with one other,” Hayden says.
We also asked Byerly about the new actor playing Jesus, Noah Centineo, and whether or not they’ve been able to work together as for yet. “In the season finale, we get to say hello to him and meet him. He stopped by the set to say hello to everybody, so it was nice to meet him and work with him for the next season, which will be exciting,” he reveals.
But, of course, before we see more Jesus, there’s the finale to get past.
“The finale is so crazy, and there’s such a big bomb that gets dropped, and there’s so much that happens, that I think that it was kind of my favorite, because there’s so much going on… and there is some happy to the Episode 10 finale,” Hayden promises.
Could some of that “happy” be happening for Jude and Connor?
“In a way. What happens is good, but it’s heartbreaking for the two of them,” he teases.
The Fosters airs Mondays at 8PM on ABC Family. You can see some photos from tonight’s episode, “Idyllwild,” below.
