The CW’s Beauty And The Beast returns for its second season in October, and the show will soon be moving to Monday nights with Hart Of Dixie. While at this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego, we caught up with Jay Ryan, who plays the beastly “Vincent Keller,” to find out what is in store for the relationship between Vincent and Catherine, affectionately referred to by “Beasties” as “VinCat.”
“In Season 1, we put them together so quickly, because everyone knows that they’re destined to be together, those two characters… so, in Season 2, they’re challenged,” he revealed.
“The mantra for Season 2 is ‘who am I?’ With Vincent, it’s ‘am I man or am I beast?’ and that’s his current dilemma of being captured by his creator which is Muirfield. They’ve basically rewired him, in a sense, to make him the Beast, the super-soldier that they intended him to be. So, when he’s finally found by Catherine, he’s really going to have to navigate that with her. I think they’re going to have a bit of self-discovery to come back and make their relationship stronger, their bond stronger,” he said.
Here is video of the interview, where he gives this answer and talks about several other things as well. SPOILERS for Season 2 are within!
