Today, on the first day of the WonderCon convention in Anaheim, California, we spoke with Beauty And The Beast lead actress Kristin Kreuk as well as one of the show’s Executive Producers, Kelly Souders. Those two names are also familiar to us from our Smallville/KryptonSite days, so it was a treat to see some “old friends.”
“Beasties” can look for some of that interview material in the next few days, but as a teaser, we thought we’d share what Kristin had to say about those old friends appearing on her new show, especially in light of her recent public reunion with Smallville’s Lois Lane, Erica Durance, at the Canadian Screen Awards. We’ve known that Kristin and Erica had remained friends, and that Kristin had remained close with Allison Mack (Chloe) over the years… so how about an on-screen reunion?
The notion has been talked about, at least among the ladies.
“Erica and I, and Allison and I, we’re good friends,” Kristin told us. “I just had dinner with Erica the other night. She’s got her show [Saving Hope], so she’s busy being a doctor, but she’s in Toronto until September… we’ve talked about stories, and they both have said they would be willing to come and play. That doesn’t mean anything, necessarily, but I want it to be the right role. I’d love to have them. They’re both awesome,” she said.
Kristin is clear to point out that nothing is set in stone. “It’s all just talk, and it won’t happen this year. We’re almost done shooting. But if we have a second season and there was the right story, it would be fun for us,” she said.
New episodes of Beauty And The Beast resume Thursday, April 18 on The CW.
