Nine years ago, very few people had heard of the television series Heroes before a packed room was able to see the premiere episode at the 2006 Comic-Con International in San Diego.
Now, in 2015, Heroes is back. There wasn’t a full screening, though clips from prequel webisodes were shown. But most excitingly, Heroes has returned as Heroes Reborn… and there was a lot of enthusiasm in Hall H, especially as old favorites like Masi Oka hit the stage. Much like the 2006 Heroes panel ignited interest in the original show, this Comic-Con panel seems to have inspired a new generation of Heroes fans.
Greg Grunberg, who played Matt Parkman on the original show and will be guest starring on Heroes Reborn, emceed the panel, which included old favorites like Jack Coleman and Jimmy Jean-Louis alongside new series stars including Zachary Levi, Robbie Kay, Henry Zebrowski, Danika Yarosh, Ryan Guzman, Judith Shekoni, Gatlin Green, Rya Kihlstedt, and creator Tim Kring. Midway through the panel, Masi Oka was shown addressing the crowd from a video screen when suddenly he disappeared and showed up on stage, mimicking the powers of his character, Hiro Nakamura. In addition to a well-received trailer (which you can see here), there was an exclusive preview clip shown featuring Hiro with fellow returning Heroes star Sendhil Ramamurthy, facing a new threat.
We will be posting interviews from the Heroes Reborn press room on our Heroes portal, HeroSite.net… our Masi Oka interview is already posted… but for fans here, enjoy some pics from the panel and the press room, which also included Dylan Bruce of Orphan Black fame.
Heroes Reborn premieres September 24, 2015 on NBC.
