As the Tom Welling-produced Hellcats resumes filming, so too come some spoilers for additions made to the original pilot presentation. Many of the additions concern the Vanessa character (played by Sharon Leal) who coaches the cheerleading team.
It seems that she had a past with both “Red” Raymond, an alpha male type who used to coach at Lancer and is considering making a return. This is possibly the role that Ben Browder was rumored to have been cast for (and may have possibly shot) that was ultimately not in the finished cut of the pilot. Vanessa knew Red in the times when he was just a junior coach and she was only a student…. and of course they have a past.
The other role now being cast is that of Derrick. Derrick is Vanessa’s boyfriend – so any chemistry between her and Red will have to stay platonic. Who are we kidding? This is TV, this is the CW, of course there will be waves. Derrick is a doctor.
Hellcats is currently scheduled to resume filming on July 14.

It will be cool series! We here, in Russia, wait it very much. I like Vanessa`s character from pilot and this love triangle looks so interesting :)
