Syfy has released the first teaser for upcoming drama Happy! and in it, we see that sometimes second chances come in a different form than we might expect.
Based on the best-selling graphic novel of the same name from Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson, with Morrison and Brian Taylor (Crank) adapting the title for television, Happy! follows corrupt ex-con Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni), who is drowning in a life of violence and excess since becoming a hit man. However, things take a turn when, after a hit gone wrong, he comes upon a tiny imaginary horse named Happy (voiced by Patton Oswalt).
In addition to Meloni and Oswalt, Happy! stars Patrick Fischler (Mad Men), Lili Mirojnick (Friends with Benefits), Joseph Reitman (The Perfect Storm), and Ritchie Coster (The Dark Knight). The series joins a scripted slate for Syfy that includes Channel Zero, Z Nation, and The Magicians.
Happy! is set to premiere later this year on Syfy. A premiere date should be announced in the coming weeks.
