Freeform has officially renewed acclaimed comedy grown-ish for a third season, it was announced today.
Season to date, grown-ish ranks as the No. 1 comedy on cable among women 18-49 and females 12-34. The series also ranks among this season’s Top 3 cable comedies with women 18-34 (No. 2), adults 18-34 (No. 3) and persons 12-34 (No. 3). The series has also continued to generate strong reviews and solid social media buzz for its substantive portrayal of college life.
Season two of the Black-ish spinoff has found Zoey (Yara Shahidi) and her group of friends returning for their sophomore year at CalU with confidence. They’ve been through the college wringer for a full year and have finally gotten the lay of the land, so the second year should be a breeze. However, they soon realize that none of them has this college thing as down pat as they might’ve thought.
In addition to Shahidi, grown-ish stars Trevor Jackson (American Crime), Francia Raisa (The Secret Life of the American Teenager), Emily Arlook (The Good Place), Jordan Buhat (Summer of 84), Chloe Bailey (Last Holiday), Halle Bailey (Let It Shine), Luka Sabbat (Hot Mess), and Deon Cole (Angie Tribeca).
