ABC has continued its mass purge of upfronts news by ordering two new dramas to series.
From David Hemingson (Kitchen Confidential), Whiskey Cavalier follows FBI super agent Will Chase (Scott Foley) as he’s newly assigned to work with bad ass CIA operative Francesca “Frankie” Trowbridge (Lauren Cohan) and lead an inter-agency team of spies. The series also stars Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty) and Tyler James Williams (Everybody Hates Chris).
Based on Spanish drama Gran Hotel and developed for television by Brian Tanen (Devious Maids), Grand Hotel is set at the last family-owned hotel in multicultural Miami Beach and chronicles the scandals, escalating debt, and explosive secrets hide beneath the picture perfect exterior. The series stars Demian Bichir (The Bridge), Roselyn Sanchez (Devious Maids), and Denyse Tontz (The Fosters).
The duo join fellow new ABC dramas The Rookie, Take Two, and A Million Little Things on the network’s 2018-2019 schedule, set to be revealed next week.
