Ten years after the first attempt for The WB that saw a pilot produced and leaked but never aired, and five years after word had come out that they were trying again for The CW, Deadline has announced that Global Frequency, based on the Warren Ellis comic book, is being attempted for TV again, this time for FOX, who has seen success from DC Comics’ Gotham.
This time it will come from writer Rockne S. O’Bannon for Jerry Bruckheimer TV and Warner Bros. Television. Bruckheimer, O’Bannon, creator Warren Ellis, and KristieAnne Reed will be executive producers.
There’s a “pilot production commitment,” which in TV-speak at least means a pilot will be produced.
Global Frequency is a Mission: Impossible style concept centered around a mysterious woman named Miranda Zero who takes charge of all situations, which are definitely beyond M:I in scope. Michelle Forbes starred in the WB pilot.
