“Finchel” fans, divert your eyes… this is going to be a sad one.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the unfortunate news that Glee actor Cory Monteith was found dead at his hotel room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. He was only 31 years old.
Monteith had checked in to the room a week ago and was scheduled to check out today. When he didn’t, hotel staff checked the room, and that is when he was found. No cause of death has been announced at this time and foul play is not suspected.
Cory Monteith appeared on Glee from the very start, through to the fourth season. Earlier this year, he checked into rehab for substance abuse. Prior to this, he made appearances in several TV shows, including Kyle XY, a very early episode of Supernatural, and Smallville’s “Thirst,” where he played a “Frat Cowboy.”
You can read more details at THR’s website. Our condolences to Monteith’s friends, his fans, and his co-workers, who lost a talented individual far too early in life.
