Any viewer of the classic Boy Meets World knows that Cory Matthews cannot escape Mr. Feeny, no matter how hard he tries. Whether it’s as a sixth grader, in high school, or even in college… where Cory goes, Feeny follows.
Now comes word via Deadline that they have confirmed that William Daniels (the man who played Feeny) will indeed be part of the Girl Meets World sequel pilot for the Disney Channel. Yes, Boy Meets World managed something Knight Rider couldn’t…. they got Daniels back. No word yet on whether or not he will be a recurring part of the series.
Earlier this week, Girl Meets World stars including young actors Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter Tweeted some images from the shoot, with some other Boy Meets World folks coming by to wish the cast well. Those visitors included Rider Strong (Shawn), Will Friedle (Eric), and Maitland Ward (Rachel). So far there has been no confirmation that any of those three will be in the pilot itself. It’s also curious to find out if Cory Matthews’ parents or sister Morgan (either of them) will show up. Us? We’re just waiting for Uncle Minkus.
In addition to Daniels as Feeny, Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel will be reprising their roles as Cory and Topanga.
Here are some of the pics that have been tweeted so far. Girl Meets World is hoping for a spot on the Disney Channel’s schedule… and really, with this kind of publicity, what could stop it?
