A sequel series for Boy Meets World sounds almost too good to be true, but now comes news that a daughter for Cory and Topanga has been cast.
EW.com has revealed that 11-year-old Rowan Blanchard of Spy Kids 4D fame will be playing the girl in Girl Meets World, the Disney Channel sequel to the ABC TGIF series. The character’s name is said to be “Riley.”
“As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews,” Boy Meets World (and Girl Meets World) creator Michael Jacobs told EW. “Rowan is real and accessible and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well.”
A pilot is expected to shoot in February, and Ben Savage and Daneille Fishel have already signed on to reprise their roles. Add Shawn and Eric and the Disney Channel might really be on to something.
