TNT’s new unscripted series Cold Justice, from Law & Order executive producer Dick Wolf, premieres tonight at 10PM (ET/PT) on TNT. The show takes situations you’d often see in Wolf’s procedural TV shows and gives it a spin by showing real cases where these things happen.
Here is how TNT describes it:
Former Prosecutor and Crime-Scene Investigator Team Up to Crack Long-Unsolved Cases in TNT’s New Docu-Drama Cold Justic
The Investigation Begins in September
Criminals who think they can get away with murder are in for a rude awakening this fall as two women who have spent their lives putting killers behind bars set out to crack long-unsolved cases in TNT‘s brand new real life crime series Cold Justice. This fascinating, unscripted procedural drama will follow former prosecutor Kelly Siegler and former crime-scene investigator Yolanda McClary as they dig into small-town murder cases that have lingered for years without answers or closure. Executive-produced by Emmy® winners Dick Wolf (Law & Order, Chicago Fire), Dan Cutforth & Jane Lipsitz (Chef, Fashion Star) and Tom Thayer (Hitchcock, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee), Cold Justice is slated to premiere Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).
Kelly Siegler is an attorney and former Texas prosecutor who successfully tried 68 murder cases in her 21 years on the job. Yolanda McClary is a former crime scene investigator who worked more than 7,000 cases in her 26 years with the Las Vegas Police Department. Together, these two women are putting their vast knowledge and experience to work helping local law-enforcement officers and families of violent-crime victims get to the truth.
With a fresh set of eyes on old evidence, superior interrogation skills and access to advanced DNA technology and lab testing, Siegler and McClary are determined to bring about legal and emotional resolution. Taking on a different unsolved crime each week, they will carefully re-examine evidence, question suspects and witnesses, and chase down leads in order to solve cases that could have otherwise remained cold indefinitely.
Along the way, Siegler and McClary will welcome assistance from esteemed detectives and forensic psychologists to work with them and, when possible, the original detectives on the cases to help shed new light and bring forth new information on these crimes.
Cold Justice is being produced for the network by Wolf Films and Magical Elves. The first season will be eight episodes.
