Hulu has announced that cult drama The Path has been renewed for a 13-episode third season, which is set to premiere next year.
From Jessica Goldberg (Parenthood), The Path follows the Meyerist Movement, a pseudo-religion that combines aspects of everything from shamanism to Scientology and Christian mysticism. Those behind the movement seek to legitimize it in the eyes of the law, though the way the movement treats its followers, blackmailing them for fundraising and casting them aside whenever they’re deemed a threat, pings the attention of federal authorities. Season two has followed Eddie’s (Aaron Paul) attempts to acclimate to life away from the Meyer compound, while Cal (Hugh Dancy) and Sarah (Michelle Monaghan) do whatever necessary to dig Meyerism out of debt and expand their movement even further.
In addition to Paul, Monaghan, and Dancy, The Path stars Kyle Allen (1 Night), Emma Greenwell (Shameless), and Rockmond Dunbar (Soul Food).
The Path, which made my top 25 TV Shows of 2016 list for its first season, is part of a scripted slate for Hulu that includes acclaimed dramedy Casual, private eye drama Shut Eye, romantic comedy The Mindy Project, Hugh Laurie-starrer Chance, and sex industry drama Harlots.
The second season finale of The Path is now available to stream on Hulu.
