It’s lights out for Eric Kripke’s NBC series Revolution, and “six seasons and a movie” is not going to be a thing – at least for NBC – for Community.
While the show did decently okay for the network on Wednesday nights, the nanotech at NBC decided it was time for lights out on the Warner Bros. Television-produced series Revolution.
It looks like the May 21 season finale will now be a series finale for the show, which starred Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, Elizabeth Mitchell, and David Lyons.
As for Community, the return of creator Dan Harmon re-energized the series, but apparently that wasn’t enough to get the show a sixth season renewal. You can read Derek B. Gayle’s look at the now-final season here. Surely the devoted fan base will try to get it picked up elsewhere, so we’ll see if anything like that happens.
UPDATE: Since this article was first posted, NBC has also canceled Growing Up Fisher. They did, however, renew About A Boy for Season 2.

Loved Growing Up Fisher and I’ve enjoyed the pairing with About A Boy. I don’t get the cancellation of that at all!
I understand Revolution is in the 4-5 million viewers range now and how that is low for Wed. at 8pm for a Big 4 network. Still sucks! Especially if they didn’t give Kripke any warning so we end on a cliffhanger. If we do, our household will be PO’d. Any rumblings that they might shop it to another network? Does Kripke want to fight for it?
To Anyone so Cares at NBC, this is why I hardly watch regular channels, once I get used to a show such as Growing Up Fisher or changing the where location in About a Boy. Just leave well enough alone! Especially don’t remove a funny show for a lame one, or one that has a bunch of Sex in it! Thanx Michelle
