It’s all come down to this.
All four regions in the 2019 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament have produced their respective champions and the best of the best will now square off for the championship.
The first Final Four game kicks off Saturday, April 6th at 6:09 p.m. when the number one seeded Virginia Cavaliers take on the surprise Final Four participant Auburn Tigers. Auburn made it to this point by beating college basketball blue bloods Kansas, North Carolina, and Kentucky, while Virginia is looking to exorcise the specter of a first round loss last season to 16-seed UMBC.
The Virginia/Auburn game will be followed by the three-seed Red Raiders of Texas Tech doing battle with the second seeded Michigan State Spartans at 8:49 p.m. Texas Tech comes into the Final Four following a season where they were picked seventh in their league, while Michigan State has overcome injury woes to make it back to the Final Four for the first time since the 2014-15 tournament when they lost to Duke. Coincidentally, the Spartans made it to this point by defeating the heavily hyped Blue Devils and presumed #1 NBA Draft pick Zion Williamson.
The winners of each national semifinal will then play for the NCAA Championship on Monday, April 8th at 9:00. All three games will be on CBS, with Jim Nantz, Bill Raftery, Grant Hill, and Tracy Wolfson set as the commentary team for each game.
