The often health-plagued Gary Coleman died of a brain hemorrhage Friday afternoon in Provo, Utah, according to CNN.
Most remember him from the role that made him famous – “Arnold” on Diff’rent Strokes. His reduced height (4’8″), a result of his health, allowed him to play a character several years younger than he really was. When Diff’rent Strokes was a hit, Coleman was one of the most popular stars on television.
In recent years Gary Coleman had often had his share of tabloid fodder – scuffles with autograph seekers, hissy fits on The Surreal Life, and that sort of thing – but it is his original role – and his “Whatchoo talkin’ bout Willis?” catch phrase – that we will always remember him by.
Gary Coleman was only 42 years old.
