Deadline: Hollywood’s Nikki Finke, one of the industry’s most prominent insiders, has posted a new column that details how certain in-development pilots are looking as far as landing spots on the Fall 2010 TV schedules. The column itself is written by Nellie Andreeva, who has for a long time been a reliable staple of trade publications.
You can read her entire column here. For now, let’s see what she says about some of the shows that we’ve been tracking here at KSiteTV:
Terra Nova: The dinosaur-themed series from Steven Spielberg will likely land on the schedule due to the fact that it fulfills a company commitment to Peter Chernin’s company. If it launches, it will likely be at midseason on FOX.
The Rockford Files: Despite casting that still makes me scratch my head, Deadline seems to think its chances are good, with “a pre-sold title and great baby boomer nostalgia” and the fact that it comes from House creator David Shore.
Undercovers: It’s J.J. Abrams. Deadline says “that about sums it up.”
The Cape: Deadline says that the dailies for the show are promising, but it might have to fight with a “conspiracy thriller” called The Event for a place on the NBC schedule.
Hawaii Five-O: With Alex O’Loughlin, this is a “sure bet.”
No Ordinary Family: Deadline calls this “an early drama standout” which is “garnering momentum.”
Nikita: This has “strong buzz” and is “an early frontrunner.”
Untitled Wyoming Project: Not The Damn Thorpes just yet? Deadline calls this the “classic CW genre,” a family soap from a proven showrunner (Gilmore Girls’ Amy Sherman-Palladino).
Betwixt: Deadline calls this “a possible Vampire Diaries companion.”
Pilots such as Hellcats are not included here because they are not yet filming. For the entire article, which includes details of many other pilots, visit Deadline.com.
