While news on a greenlight to shoot Amazon has not come yet (The CW hasn’t ordered all of their pilots), some news has begun emerging with regards to the network’s prospects for Fall 2013…. and one of those prospects has been tried before.
The Selection was one of those pilots that didn’t make it last year. Set in a future where women are put in a lottery for the hand of the prince of a war-torn nation, this series — based on the novel by Kiera Cass — has been something The CW’s Mark Pedowitz has seemed to want to make as the network’s answer to The Hunger Games. It sounds as though the first pilot will be re-shot, which means all of the roles will be casted again.
Also picked up by the network is Company Town, a Navy drama from Oscar nominee Taylor Hackford and former Supernatural executive producer Sera Gamble.
These two projects are in addition to the already known Vampire Diaries backdoor pilot project The Originals. As we said, more pilot news is sure to come.
