Yesterday at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, California, Warner Bros. Television previewed Crime Watch Daily, a new daytime show premiering in syndication on September 14.
To promote the launch, they have unveiled Crime Watch Daily’s first look at its six-month investigation into Uber X, the Uber company’s cheapest and most popular transportation service, in a clip that was first shown during a panel session at the press tour.
In the piece, Crime Watch Daily discovered three people with criminal histories who agreed to apply to drive for Uber X. Applicant Will McCarthy, who has multiple burglary convictions on his record, told Crime Watch Daily, “The last conviction that I had … I broke into a sporting goods store and stole 19 handguns.”
You can see a preview clip below.
Crime Watch Daily is described as “the very first crime show to air in daytime syndication.” From unsolved murders to compelling mysteries, undercover investigations to shocking crimes caught on video, the series will uncover the stories happening in small towns around America and turn them into national headlines. The key ingredients of “Mystery, Crime and Drama” will drive every episode. Crime Watch Daily’s network of affiliate stations will serve as an “extended newsroom,” sharing resources and using local reporters to cover the stories in local markets all over the country.
Crime Watch Daily is produced by Telepictures Productions and is distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.
