A few years ago, Hourman was one of the comic book concepts talked about by Geoff Johns as having potential to be a TV series.
Now, Warner Bros. Television and The CW might take that notion a step further by developing a drama series around the character Hourman.
The Hollywood Reporter have the scoop here, along with a logline about the concept, which sounds like a departure from what we know from the comic books:
Hourman centers on a brilliant-yet-troubled pharmaceutical analyst who discovers that the visions that have plagued him since childhood are actually glimpses of tragic events occurring one hour in the future. Determined to win back his ex-wife and son, he heroically prevents these tragedies from unfolding, finding both purpose and redemption along the way.
Sounds a bit Early Edition looking an hour away, doesn’t it?
Michael Caleo (Ironside, The Sopranos) is executive producing and writing the script alongside Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz.
THR’s report says the network is still mulling Amazon, The Wonder Woman script. The Flash will have a pilot filmed for sure, helmed by David Nutter as the 20th episode of Arrow this season. Maybe “CW” should just change their name to “DC?”

They can call it whatever they want, but it isn’t Hourman.
Unfortunately, that was the power Geoff gave to Rick Tyler in his JSA series.
He should have included the drug addiction and the hour of power in his pitch. Or maybe the suits rejected that and said, keep Rick’s power.
I would be thrilled if they included the Android from the future.
Give him the pill and we will be all good
You hit the nail on the head with the Early Edition reference, I loved that show.
I for one, wouldn’t mind seeing a show along the same lines with a comic hero twist.
