If you just can’t wait for Friday night’s Smallville to see Annette O’Toole on TV again, you’re in luck: She’s also on tonight’s episode of Private Practice which airs on ABC at 10PM.
“I play a woman whose son has been killed in Iraq six months ago, and she’s dealing with that, but she founds out something she didn’t know, which is that he had a child with a female soldier, and the female soldier has been practically blinded by shrapnel in this explosion that killed the son,” she tells us.
“There’s a baby that she didn’t know about, and once she finds that out, she comes to the hospital where this woman is being treated to take the baby,” she continues. “It’s a nice character because you think it’s going to be one thing and then it turns out to be another.”
Annette tells us that it’s the B-story of tonight’s show and many of her scenes are with Tim Daly, who, along with Lucas Grabeel on her recent Smallville guest appearance, introduced her to the world of an iPad. Considering Tim Daly is one of the most famous voices of the Superman character, and adding the fact that Annette’s husband, Michael McKean, bought her an iPad, that means that Superman, Lex Luthor, and Perry White were all her enablers.
