The week of “Upfronts” is almost like Christmas to a TV fan. It is the time when you find out which pilots are picked up to become new shows, which series might be canceled, and even some surprise renewals come to light. The Upfronts are when these new shows are presented to potential advertisers for the first time.
This year’s Upfronts will be held in mid-May, and here’s the current schedule for what is happening and when:
May 13, 2013 (Morning) – NBC
The first announcement day. NBC has a lot of big moves to make, and hopefully some of their new shows will be pretty bold and exciting.
May 13, 2013 (Afternoon) – FOX
FOX has only had one hit new drama in recent years with The Following. This will be the day to find out if they have more to come. (Delirium sounds great!)
May 14, 2013 (Morning) – Univision
I don’t know what they have planned, but considering their ratings are higher than some of the other broadcast nets, it’s notable.
May 14, 2013 (Afternoon) – ABC
This will hopefully be the day we find out where S.H.I.E.L.D. lands on the schedule. ABC also has some decisions to make about some other nights of the week, including what can go with Once Upon A Time and Revenge on Sundays.
May 15, 2013 (Afternoon) – CBS
CBS’ schedule is solid, but the fates of some shows like CSI: NY and The Mentalist may still be up in the air. Should be curious to see what happens there, and if the new NCIS spin-off is picked up.
May 16, 2013 (Morning) – The CW
Will The CW keep Beauty And The Beast, The Carrie Diaries, and Hart Of Dixie? Which of their buzzy new pilots will be picked up? Again, this is the time to find out.
Of course, you can keep tuned to KSiteTV on those days for updates when those schedules are announced.
