Deadline is reporting that Hulu sci-fi comedy Future Man has added Great Indoors alum Shaun Brown in a recurring role. He’ll be playing Hatchet, a member of a unique family that Wolf becomes a part of in a case of mistaken identity.
From Howard Overman (Misfits), Kyle Hunter (Sausage Party), and Ariel Shaffir (The Night Before), Future Man tells the story of Josh Futturman (Josh Hutcherson), a video game-obsessed janitor at a medical facility who beats a game called The Biotic Wars that turns out to be a training vehicle sent from the future. As the lone person to defeat the game, Josh is recruited by time travelers Wolf and Tiger to join the resistance and prevent the world from falling into a dystopian hellhole some 150 years into the future.
Season one of Future Man ended with Tiger and Wolf jumping back to a future (presumably) changed by the death of Kronish and the destruction of his laboratories, with Josh taking the fall for Santiago’s death and his acts of domestic terrorism. The finale then jumped ahead one year to Josh still in prison but in the presence of someone time jumping into his cell.
In addition to his role on the CBS comedy, Brown has appeared on the likes of Grace and Frankie, Fresh Off the Boat, and Grimm.
Season two of Future Man will likely premiere later this year on Hulu. You can check out what KSiteTV thought of season one here.
