Internet Friendships and Relationships

I couldn't imagine dating someone on the internet. Imaging the shock when they saw what I had to offer. I can't believe I'm all mine.

most of my good friends ive met online. havent met in person but most of them came from this site and they are like really good friends. and since i moved my best friend has become an online friend but ya ive made great friends online.

the dating thing i wouldnt have used a dating site or go on fb hitting on girls or anything but if it was someone who i became good friends with and really liked them and had the guts to ask them out i would. but with online id have to talk to them alot and know a lot about them and trust they arent hiding anything. if they seem like they have a perfect life and say whatyou want to hear they are not worth it but if you can argue with them and agree with them and notice other stuff thru what they post on like fb and what their friends are like you can tell if they are legit.

I met my boyfriend through this website about four years ago. He had finished posting a story and I commented on it. Not long after, he sent me a PM asking me for some feedback on something else he was thinking about writing. He said I sounded a little older than the other posters, which is true. I'm 4 years older than him.

Anyway, we went back and forth on occasion, then graduated to AOL, then to phone calls. We finally met in June of 2000. We've been together ever since.

PS: I still give him feedback. You could say that I'm his red pen. In fact he gave me a lovely one not long after we met

Online dating is laughable on my end. Also, online friendships don't hold a candle to a friendship based in real life. There's an emotional attachment that happens when 2 people hug each other, look each other in the eyes when talking about their personal lives, hear themselves laugh at jokes, and play games face-to-face. But I don't have a problem with online friendships nor online dating. In the introverted world, there are introverts who don't want to get out of homes and use their voice for socialising. Which is why I don't blame them for using the online world for friendships or dating.
