I felt that Lois part wasn't played right. What did Lois think she was going to do? That was plain stupid. How do you go solo into a fortress which is obviously heavily guarded with armed men ? Did she think she was going to beat 'em all.

I don't think Lois thought it was a Fortress, and from the outside it looks like just a dam. And perhaps she was thinking she was going in a back way or something. You gotta admit, with the loose chain and the easy access from there it might have been.
