I thought that Lily was going to be the girls name but i thought they were going to mention that the girls middle name was Laura or some thing dealing with Lana's parents

It's always been my theory that the writers were blending the characters of Lena and Lana together (after all, you just need to change one letter). That explains the so called "sibling" relationship the writers talked about in the early seasons, which is now very clearly "Lexana." The Lexmas dream sequence seemed to bear it out (death --> Lex's turn to evil).
