At first I found the whole thing with Tandy and the phone annoying. But, then I realized that this is a teenager, whose dad died when she was little. It's completely understandable that she got issues and isn't over it.
Nice to see the two fighting together and working like a team. As most of the episode took place inside this guy's head (where time moved much faster), it allowed the two to acquire combat experience, without having to put themselves in actual danger.
