  • "The Adventures of Supergirl" Ratings

Predict the ratings for Monday's CW premiere, and talk about them once they come in!

My guess? 3.75 million. Not a lot, but nothing to scoff at on The CW. There's a LOT of competition.

Was expecting it to be higher. The lowest rated season 1 episode still took in 6 million. Okay, CW is a smaller network than CBS. But both the Arrow and The Flash pilots took in 4 million viewers and this episode featured a much more famous character than those two combined. You'd think that would've resulted in more like 4,5 million, if not more.

To be honest, I thought the numbers would be similar to the Flash's premiere on the CW. Didn't expect the 6-7 million it was getting at the end of its CBS tenure, but 4-4.5 million felt like a realistic target. Especially with Superman on board.

It's a good showing for a premiere on The CW, at least some of its CBS viewers sought it out for the premiere anyway. It's still relatively new, compared to Arrow and Flash, so it's not so surprising they came in below the numbers of its more senior TV cousins.

We may get a better sense of how much of its CBS audience it retained in a few weeks. SG was always a CW show in tone, thematically, etc - even when it was on CBS.

On this side of the border, SG is no longer on one of the main networks but (like in the US) shifted to one of its smaller cable channels.

Need to remember that SG had a season already. People have their opinions. They need to win people back.

                Pretty nice...

The network premiere of Supergirl was the network's most-watched (3.024m) show in its Monday 8:00-9:00pm time period in almost eight years (gossip girl on 12/1/08), its best adults 18-49 (1.1/4) rating in nearly six years (90210 on 12/6/10), and its highest adults 18-34 (0.9/4) rating in five years (gossip girl on 11/21/11), according to preliminary fast affiliate ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

Supergirl was the cw’s highest rated show ever in its time period among men 18-49 (1.2/4).

Viewership was lower but that's because the CW doesn't have all the old people who turn to CBS and just leave their TVs there, the key demo rating wasn't that far off with the season finale's.
