It's obvious by now that Sam doesn't want, and never really wanted to be a hunter. Why does he always seem to forgive Dean for never respecting that? When he left to go to college, for that matter, his father told him "Don't come back." Can something like that ever be unsaid? Can things ever be the same again? Frankly, one thing that always bugs me about this show is the way Dean is always scolding Sam for wanting to leave the life, even though it's obvious that Dean just wants doesn't want to do it alone.

Why does Sam put up with Dean?

The hunting started out Sam wanted revenge for Jess and Mary. Sam knows Dean at the end and start of the day loves him. Watch the flashbacks of their childhood. Also he is a Winchester it's what they do. Even when Dean was dead he still hunted, that is when he was in hell. Also, if your brother sold his soul to resurrect you, couldn't you forgive some slights.
The brothers love each other, that trumps all. -
