Assuming that Damon doesn't find out about Katherine in the next new episode (s2) then maybe we should be in store for some awkward Damon/Elena scenes and she will have no idea what's going on

This season finale was amazingg... I feel very sorry for anyone who misseddd it!!! IT WAS AMAZING. I agree with you @DarkKal

i missed it when it aired but just got finished watching it now.

i am so angry....my favorite character got killed off! when katherine stabbed john i laughed cuz he got what he deserved.

if john somehow survived his stabbing, i hope jeremy comes back as a vampire and finishes him off. cuz i sure would.

i loved the episode.
slow start, but amazing finish.
i had read spoilers so i wasn't tooo surprised.
the deaths where a scary thing to think about,
and i was shocked when ana was killed. bummer.
she was rad. and a great asset to the show.
but i'm sure there will be more "ana's" next season.
so we shouldn't worry too much about that.
bonnie got her cool points back by of course saving the boys.
the tyler/mayor/werewolf thing, awesome.
i'm glad they didn't try to fit that whole story in season 1.
season 2 will just be all the better now.
not too happy about caroline's injury,
but maybe now matt will grow to love her more,
so their story should be more interesting.
i love that damon was more open in this ep.
and i feel as though people are taking jeremy's attitude too lightly.
put yourself in his shoes, parents deceased,
your sis making decisions for you.
both loves of his life dying. it sucks to be him.
i dont blame him for wanting to turn,
whether or not his does i'm still pondering.
i loved the scenes with elena and stephan in this ep.
it just goes to show how strong their relationship is.
and i loved that she reassured him that she loved HIM.
of course that wasn't elena kissing damon, OF COURSE IT WASN'T.
i knew it from the second she let him get close enough,
for a kiss on the cheek, let alone anywhere else.
the way jenna told "elena" to come in, nicely thrown in there. invitation.
and the "badassness" of playing with the knifes before killing john.
VERY nicely done. the writers gave the less observant viewers a chance,
to realize that it was KATHERINE not elena.
the cliffhanger was nicely done.
i too was left wondering if jenna was dead,
or if kat is still in the kitchen,
if elena finds her father dead,
and if damon comes back to the house to "finish" the kiss.
because of course he can enter and leave whenever he'd like.
all in all, great ending, to a great season.
season two, episode one, will at least be an amazing ep.
that was guaranteed tonight.

Just blown away by that for a season finale, especially for season 1. I think this show has a good future if the writing is anything to by!

Anyhow, one thing I picked up on...

When Jenna invited Katherine inside, Damon gave a glance over his shoulder, something did not feel right to him. I actually don't think he missed the point if I am honest, I think he may well be suspecting something because he knows Elena's behaviour and knows that she probably wouldn't be so willing a kiss.

I actually thought that when John closed the fridge Jeremy would seek revenge and then thought 'No way too quick!', then when Katherine chopped his hand I shouted 'Elena!' lol!

I can't believe just how good that was.
Just wish Smallville could recapture that feeling with their season finales, the past two have been disappointing, especially Season 8's...let's hope tonight they pull it back!

you know, you would think that damon would notice something odd was going on. maybe even notice something different about elena. i think he'll show up at the start of the episode after the real elena discovers nothing in the kitchen. it's just a feeling i have...that she'll find nothing.

Man the last scene I was like begging for more! When the title came up, I was like "NO! NOT YET!!" Wish it was longer lol
