^^Also, don't forget, all Kryptonite was obviously heated up, when it fell through the Earth's atmosphere, yet it didn't all turn into black Kryptonite. The writers obviously didn't think this thing through, before they did an episode, establishing that black Kryptonite is created, when green Kryptonite's heated up.
They had to make Kara look good and didn't think things through. They could have had Clark teach Kara to use her superbreath blowing the stone away making Clark a good wise ol' mage-thingy and Kara the hero of the epi.
I think the heat vision is hotter than anything on earth, that's why Clark can evaporate water in seconds like in "Bizarro". So even though you heat up kryptonite it doesn't turn to black unless it's shot up with kryptonian lazers.
