Ok, I was rewatching this ep last night, and I had an interesting thought. Well, interesting to me.
Given that:
1. Dean admitted to willingly torturing souls in Hell for 10 years, and even admitted to liking it.
2. Dean is obviously very angry at Sam given this latest revelation of Sam's choices and actions since Dean died.
3. Sam's withdrawal can be easily described as physical, emotional, and perhaps even spiritual torture.
Given these things, now comes the interesting idea:
What if Dean avoided staying in the panic room because he was afraid... Afraid he might enjoy it?
