  • Tess is more evil than Lex?

Was Tess so confident that Clark was the Traveler she would let Oliver die? Clark showed her the flower from the plant that poisoned Oliver, she knew is was the plant from the island that poisoned Ollie before. All she had to do was let Clark know leeches could draw the poison from Ollie's body, and leeches are available at all hospitals. Instead she tested Clark to see if he could get to South America and back with the antidote before Ollie died. If Clark wasn't the Traveler, Ollie would be dead.
Her next victim was the pirate, she bailed him out...........just to poison him. Lex did a good job picking Tess to take over, where he left off.

She's evil, just not as evil. Or at least not as grand in scope yet.

She also blew out Live Wire and Eva Greer's brains in Injustice, and killed Regan.

According to Wikipedia, there are almost 700 known species of leeches. It's possible that the species on the island are able to produce an encyme, that the species they have available at Met U doesn't. Not that I claim to be an expert on leeches, but I do know that if you've been bitten by a snake, you need the correct antivenom. They can't just pump you full of whatever.

As for the deaths Tess has caused, I've talked about them on another thread.

There was Marcos ("Toxic"), a man who had just tried to kill Oliver Queen, then attack her and years earlier had kidnapped Tess and her best friend (killing the latter and trying to kill Tess). One could argue that her actions was brought on by past trauma and a fear that Marcos would come after her next. I could see any judge be lenient with her.

There was Regan Matthews ("Power"), who tried to kill Tess and she killed him in self-defense. Doubtful any charges would be filled against her. Especially as Matthews had just killed another person in her office, giving her valid reasons to fear for her life.

There were Eva Greer and Leslie Willis ("Injustice"). However, there are many details concerning the team Tess assembled in S8, that were never established (like why she decided to assemble them in the first place). In S9, Tess is revealed to be an agent of Checkmate. This opens the possibility that she was acting under orders from Checkmate, to set up this team, and to terminate them, should they become a threat. Checkmate was a government agency, meaning her killing Greer and Willis would've been government sanctioned.

Tess (possibly) killed a Kandorian clone ("Crossfire"), again in self-defense. The clone's death was never confirmed. Furthermore, the same actor appears as a Kandorian clone in the season finale, suggesting that she didn't kill him (unless the actor's supposed to play two different Kandorian clones).

So, that's (not counting the uncertain Kandorian case) one case of self-defense, one case with a mitigating factor (or factors) and two committed while in service of a government sanctioned agency.
