It is hard because we never actually met the "real Adam". All we got was fake ghoul Adam. That is the real sadness of this. Sam and Dean never got to know their real half brother and Adam never knew them. Honestly I was not all that happy with casting. He was just not hot enough to be a Winchester I mean look at John, Sam and Dean. Adam looked nothing at all like any of the Winchesters. I think Sam looks like John and so does Dean but Dean looks so much like his brother.

I honestly felt the whole introducing a third brother concept was stupid esp since he was dead anyways and I feel it went to against established cannon and was character assisination on John's part.

I think this episode was so we could gain some more information about John and maybe what he did on his long trips away from the boys. Though I don't agree with what John did, he did take responsibility for what happened. In the end it hurt Dean and Sam overall because they never got to live their normal life.
