The doctor that looks conspicuously like Meryl Streep will soon be out of practice.
Various outlets including TV Line are reporting tonight that The CW will not be picking up Emily Owens, M.D. beyond their initial 13-episode order. The show is said to be continuing its planned run, and then it will be curtains for Mamie Gummer, Justin Hartley, Michael Rady, and the folks at Denver Memorial.
Compared to other CW newcomers like Arrow and Beauty And The Beast, Emily Owens just wasn’t performing as well as it should. It also was getting ratings below those had by now-canceled shows Ringer and The Secret Circle.
Maybe this frees up Hartley to appear on Arrow sometime? Got to see a bright side, right?

The bright side is that now I don’t have to watch commercials for it when I watch Arrow :P
Also that Hartley might appear on it.
