Freeform has announced that Hollywood drama Famous in Love has been renewed for a second season, which should see its debut in 2018.
“We’re so proud to be continuing our relationship with Marlene King and this incredibly talented cast,” said Karey Burke, executive vp programming and development. “Famous in Love has resonated with nearly 30 million fans [factoring in linear, digital across all episodes] across the U.S. and we couldn’t be happier to deliver another season of this addictive series.”
Based on the novel from Rebecca Serle and developed for television by I. Marlene King (Pretty Little Liars), Famous in Love tells the story of ordinary college student Paige (Bella Thorne) as she unexpectedly lands an audition for a blockbuster film and struggles to adjust to her new burst of fame and responsibility.
In addition to Thorne, Famous in Love stars Charlie DePew, Georgie Flores, Carter Jenkins, and Niki Koss. The series was the second Freeform property to have an entire season released after its linear debut, joining supernatural drama Beyond in receiving a second season following a binge released first go-around.
Famous in Love is part of a scripted slate for Freeform that includes Stitchers, The Bold Type, The Fosters, and Shadowhunters.
