CBS is about to shoot a pilot called Elementary, which tells a story of a modern-day Sherlock Holmes.
Kind of like the British drama Sherlock, which also tells a story of a modern-day Sherlock Holmes.
In any event, Deadline has revealed today that Jonny Lee Miller (Eli Stone) has been cast in the lead role for the CBS version, which is not based on its British counterpart. I’m still not a fan of the title – “Elementary” sounds like a better name for a Community prequel.
In a strange Sherlock-ian connection, Miller recently did a stage show of Frankenstein in London, with British Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch. The photo with this article has both Sherlock actors – past, present, and future – in one shot!

I don’t think this is a good idea. The show is not original, and Jonny Lee Miller looks like a pug. CBS is showing us here that it has ran out of ideas for successful shows by remaking a successful show from an overseas broadcaster. In any event, I will not be watching this garbage. I will stick to Sherlock.
